What is a Face Lift?
A Face lift is a cosmetic procedure that helps improve visible signs of aging and tightens the skin around the face and neck area. The facelift surgery helps restore a more youthful appearance to ones face and improves sagging features that happen over time with exposure to UV sunlight rays and aging.
A facial lift surgery includes a few different steps including lifting the cheeks, smoothing the jaw line and mid face. By creating a more angular look to the jaw line it gives a much more tight and youthful appearance to the face and neck region. Most patients who undergo a face lift do so with the intention of smoothing their face and neck area along with edging the jaw line and chin to get a tighter facial look.
During a facelift surgery the incision happens close to the ear and then the skin is lifted and the muscles and tissues are tightened. Excess fat is removed from the face and neck along with the extra skin.
After the surgery people are usually able to get back to work and exercise in about a month but should keep out direct sunlight exposure for up to months to reduce any visible scarring that can occur. To see the complete face lift results it will take up to 6 months. Get a face lift, enjoy life.
